Our Coaches and Committee headed to Manning Great Lakes RDA for the 2 day State Workshop over 30th April/1st May weekend. The 2 day State Workshop is held every 2 years and this year, sessions were included around Administration to assist Committee/coordinators with their role. Ryde was very well represented with 16 Coaches/Committee/Coordinators attending.
Risk Management and WHS in RDA; Saddle Fitting with Grahame Aitken - Master Saddler of Aitkens Saddlery; The benefits of going barefoot - Mark Klaus - Barefoot trimmer; RDA and the primary school student - Tim Putland - Principal of Tuncurry School; Care of the Aged Horse - Wingham Valley Vets; Selecting and training the RDA Horse; Reporting, Centre Support, Forms, Incident reporting, Coach/Committee Partnership.
The AGM was held on the Saturday night followed by a dinner where the Annual RDA (NSW) award winners were announced including: Pearl Batchelor Volunteer of the Year, Rider of the Year, Shush Award, Volunteer Encouragement, Young Volunteer of the Year and Photo of the Year.
The Photo of the Year is voted on by all attending the weekend and the winning photo for 2016 was entered by the Ryde Centre! Many thanks go to the volunteers who assisted, our wonderful rider James and our beautiful Calvin. James and Calvin have formed quite a partnership.
